Chris Nelson, Senior Consultant
Chris Nelson is a Senior Consultant with Pacific Building Consultants, Inc. Chris Nelson has 33 years of experience in the construction industry beginning as a workman working up to becoming president of Weathertight Construction a general contracting firm specializing in flashings and other support work for roofing and waterproofing.
At Pacific Building Consultants Inc. since 1988 Mr. Nelson leads investigations of rain water leakage (roofs, walls, windows, doors, plaza decks, etc,) with increasing focus on leaks that others have not been able to resolve. His work includes recommending corrective solutions and preparation of detail drawings and specifications. Also observing jobs in progress to report on compliance to specifications and provide solutions to on-site problems.
Additionally he provides roof management condition surveys, assists insurance companies with independent evaluations, and provides owners and attorneys with informed opinions.
Mr. Nelson is a former President of Westcon and is a member of RCI. He has spoken at numerous RCI and Westcon meetings and been the Chair of Westcon’s annual symposium since 2002. You can contact Chris at cnelson@dng-group.com
Scott Wood, President, Level II Thermographer
Scott Wood, a level III thermographer and expert in building science thermography, provides unique knowledge and experience in building science allowing him to assess buildings more effectively, quickly and comprehensively as well as providing a special skill set as investigator, consultant, and instructor for building science and thermography. In 2003, Scott developed a 4day curriculum for building science thermography classes for the ITC/Building Science Institute and is currently instructing his own certified building science thermography classes and workshops at National and International venues.
Mr. Wood is a founding member & treasurer of the International Association of Certified Thermographers (IACT), an active voting member for ASTM International C16 committee, member of the NACBI, NIBS and local Seattle Building Enclosure Council. John D. Shepherd, Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), Registered Roof Observer (RRO)
John D. Shepherd is the principal of Shepherd Consulting Services, a building envelope (roofing, waterproofing & exterior walls) construction forensic consulting firm, and the Building Envelope Institute, a firm that develops education programs for construction professionals (consultants, architects , engineers, con- tractors, etc.). John has been consulting for 17 years and has been active in the construction industry for over 40 years, including 10 as a roofing contractor. He is an RCI Registered Roof Consultant (RRC) and RRO, a Haag Certified Commercial/Residential Roof Inspector, and a certified building science thermographer.
Over his career in the industry John has conducted thousands building envelope investigations including those related to leak investigations, construction defect litigation, property assessment inspections, and property damage claims.
John has served on the board of directors for both RCI, Inc. and the SoCal Chapter of RCI, and has served on a number of committees in RCI and on ASTM International. You can contact John at jds@shepherdconsulting.com.
